FAR Instructor Upskilling Programme 2026
2026 OSCE updates and non-core clinical skills
This programme prepares TrainedIn FAR instructors to deliver and assess the current 2026 FAR and CFR-C curriculum. It covers the revised OSCE assessment structure across all five FAR stations, the updated CFR-C skills assessments (Adult BLS, conscious and unconscious choking), and the four approved non-core clinical skills: indirect pressure, tourniquet application, haemostatic dressing, and management of suspension trauma.
Instructors will learn to apply the current assessment criteria consistently, teach and evidence the non-core skills safely within their scope of practice, and support learners through the mandatory four-assessment requirement (CFR-C plus three FAR stations). The programme combines theory, worked marking examples, and hands-on practical sessions, and concludes with a theory examination and an in-person practical competency assessment. Successful completion — not attendance alone — is required for formal TrainedIn authorisation to deliver the non-core elements.
